ENGINEERS
FOR TOMORROW
Engineers for Tomorrow Goals:
- Interest, encourage, and assist young people in pursuing an engineering career.
- Benefit Illinois-Iowa employers in their recruitment and retention of young engineering graduates.
- Return the best and brightest to their hometown region.
Two Specific Missions:
- Begin as early as junior high school to encourage children to take the appropriate courses in math and science for engineering.
- Encourage high school students to consider completing a degree in engineering at Bradley University.
Key Points of the Program
- Specifically adapted to the needs and resources of each locality where it is established.
- Together with local school, businesses, civic and development organizations and foundations.
- Cooperate to design, fund, and administer each local program.
- Develop presentations, projects and programs to interest students in engineering and direct them toward class choices that will prepare them for an engineering education.
- Coordinate with local community colleges on appropriate curriculum for pre-engineering.
- Provide substantial tuition reduction to participating scholarship students who attend Bradley.
- Local businesses provide direction, leadership, funding and administrative assistance to the program. They will provide summer jobs and internships to student participants.
- Local development groups, business - civic organizations and foundations assist with development, administration and funding of the local program.
- Participating sponsors of the local program will choose local scholarship recipients, who may be required to work in the local area for a period of time after receiving an engineering degree.
