Bradley University Engineering Camp
Bradley University Rocket Engineering Camp 2009
The Bradley Rocket Engineering Camp, held every June, provides 80 Peoria-area students an immersion into the exciting world of engineering and technology and gives them hands-on experience with high-tech equipment and processes in creating a product. The camp is sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation, the Illinois Space Grant Consortium and the Bradley University College of Engineering and Technology.
Students will be selected from the four Peoria Public District #150 high schools, the central Illinois high schools which currently offer the Project Lead the Way Pre-engineering curriculum, and eighth grade graduates of the Caterpillar Destination Technology program and the Gateway to Technology programs.
Students will use math, science and engineering processes to design and build a rocket that will be launched from a football field yard line through the goal posts. They will use mathematics and science to predict the performance of their rocket and then prove their prediction with the first and only launch of the rocket.
