Op-ed by professor and Poet Laureate Kevin Stein celebrates poetry’s ‘spirited afterlife’

The reports of poetry’s death are greatly exaggerated, according to a recent op-ed penned by Bradley professor and Illinois Poet Laureate Kevin Stein.
April is National Poetry Month and Stein, Caterpillar professor of English, mulls over the state of American poems in Sunday’s edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Though many have proclaimed its demise, he writes that the medium continues to thrive and adapt with new technology. Poetry, he contends, “has not given up its literary ghost.”
