Trustees elected to Bradley University Board

Five members have recently been elected to the Bradley University Board of Trustees.  Bradley’s President Joanne Glasser, says while these trustees may represent a variety of backgrounds and credentials, they have one thing in common.  “These Trustees all have a passion for Bradley University.  They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will certainly help Bradley continue to achieve national distinction.”

David Bozeman received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering & Technology at Bradley in 1991.  Bozeman serves as Senior Vice President, Caterpillar Enterprise System Group.  He previously worked as vice president of advanced manufacturing at Harley-Davidson Motor Co.  Bozeman serves on the Industrial Engineering Advisory board at Bradley and also is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation Board of Directors.

Michael Cullinan is a 1970 graduate of Northwestern University and received his Juris Doctorate from University of Illinois in 1973.  Cullinan is Chairman of United Contractors Midwest, a highway construction company operating primarily in Illinois, but also in Missouri.  He is also involved with River City Construction, a general contractor operating in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri.  He previously served on the Bradley Board of Trustees. 

Stephen Gorman received his MBA from Bradley in 1978 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Delta Air Lines based in Atlanta, GA.  In 2011 Gorman was named a Distinguished Alumnus and inducted into the Centurion Society.  Prior to joining Delta, Gorman spearheaded Greyhound Lines’ four-year financial turnaround as the company’s CEO.  He also has senior executive experience with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Northwest Airlines.  Gorman previously served on the Bradley Board of Trustees.

Dr. Lindsey Rolston is a 1985 graduate of Bradley.  He is an orthopedic surgeon in the Indianapolis area and inventor of the Journey Deuce knee replacement system.  Rolston earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.  Rolston was inducted into the University’s Centurion Society in 2010 and received the athletic department’s Orville Nothdruft Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. 

Hon. James Shadid is a 1979 graduate of the Hilltop and currently a federal judge for the Central District of Illinois.  Shadid earned a Juris Doctorate in 1983, then worked in private practice until being appointed a judge for the 10th Circuit of Illinois in 2001.  He also was a part-time public defender for 15 years and commissioner of the Illinois Court of Claims for five years.   He is a member of the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame.  Shadid will be the Alumni representative on the board. 

At the October board meeting, six more members were re-elected by the Board of Trustees: 

Calvin Butler: Sr Vice President of Strategy, Regulatory & External Affairs at Baltimore Gas & Electric, Baltimore, MD.

Cheryl Corley:  Midwest Correspondent of National Public Radio, Chicago, IL

Georgina Heard-Labonne (Secretary):  Associate Director of Illinois Department of Transportation, Chicago, IL

Gerald Shaheen:  Retired Group President at Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, IL

Mel Smith:  President of Investment Concepts, Chicago, IL

Doug Stewart (Vice Chairman): Regional President of PNC Bank, Peoria IL

Robert Turner remains the Board’s Chairman.
