This commemorative program of Haitian composers offers an opportunity to reflect upon the impressive legacy of Haitian classical music and learn about its position in a global sphere. The performers will discuss the music and its history, and program notes will be available upon entrance.
Jamie Cartright, who lives and teaches music in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a graduate of Stetson University, and Lauren Eldridge is studying ethnomusicology at the University of Chicago.
