Coach wins Tri-County Tennis Tournament
Bradley tennis coach Jesse Plote considers himself an “ambassador for tennis” in the community after winning the Men’s Open Singles division of the 43rd Tri-County Tennis Tournament. Plote defeated reigning champion Jordan Nestrud in a 2 ½-hour match on July 31.
“As the Bradley University men’s tennis coach, I feel I have to represent the game, be an ambassador for the sport in this community,” Plote told the Journal Star.
Plote, who became tennis coach in 2008, beat EVGENY SOMOYLOV ’08 MAS ’09 in the final tour of the tournament to make it to the championship round.
