“My role at Bradley Hilltopics is to partner with Duane Zehr, our campus photographer, to visually entice you to learn about the many wonderful stories Bradley inspires. My favorite project so far has been the cover of our spring 2009 issue, featuring Ray LaHood ’71 HON ’11 and President Barack Obama in front of Caterpillar’s environmentally friendly electric-drive tractor technology, which was developed by Mike Betz ’87. Titled “Working Together,” it’s a wonderful statement of American innovation and partnership. LaHood and Obama signed a copy of the cover for us, which now resides in the President’s office. I’m so proud of those Bradley graduates! I come from a long Bradley family tradition myself: my grandfather and two of his brothers graduated from Bradley, as well as four other members of my extended family. My husband Matt and I live with our son Sam in Marquette Heights.”
