PEORIA HEIGHTS, IL (Friday, September 9th, from 5:00 – 8:00pm) – Exhibit A Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new work from visual artist, Scott Cavanah, entitled “Land and Sea” at it’s gallery located at 4607 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights, IL. The traditional photography and interactive digital show will be on view from September 5th through October 2nd, 2016, with the artist reception from 5:00 to 8:00pm September 9th. During the reception, several visual elements will be on display that will not be offered for viewing outside of this special event.

Bridging the gap between traditional photography and the implementation of technology, Cavanah explores combinations of Virtual and Augmented reality as extensions of his fine art images. On view for the opening reception only, viewers are invited to to engage with images through the Microsoft Hololens and Virtual Reality goggles. Through a collaborative grant project between NASA and Bradley University, Cavanah is one of the the first photographic artists to exhibit fine art through this emerging technology.

Cavanah continues to expand the definition of traditional fine art photography in this new exhibit. Land and Sea is imagery of just that, but in evocative, compelling compositions. Cavanah is testing the boundaries of a gallery experience, the definitions of new media and the blending of traditional and emergent art forms.
