Hands-on Showcase

Bradley’s interactive media students will display their best work at this year’s second annual FUSE.

The day-long, interactive exhibit demonstrates the fusion of art and technology and brings together the three interactive media concentrations, game design, animation and web and application design.

The tagline is “Play, Watch, Interact,” which breaks down what visitors will do at the show.

The FUSE website was designed and built by interactive media major Linsey Whitlock ’15, whose concentration is web and application design.

“This is the most control I’ve ever had, design-wise, on a site like this,” Whitlock said.

Whitlock has experience building websites from her time at Bradley, and says the FUSE website is more material than she is used to working with. The website features a short bio about each student in the interactive media department and a few pieces of their work.

“It was a bit more content than I’m used to working with,” she said.

FUSE is organized by seniors and is heavily focused on seniors’ work. There will be a video interview piece about each senior as well as the senior capstone project presentations. Each senior gets an hour on the main floor of the museum to present their work.

However, regardless of their year, every student in the department is eligible for Catapult. Catapult is a new segment in this year’s exhibit that features five groups made of interactive media students chosen to complete a project that will be featured at FUSE.

“I saw all the projects for the beta testing day, and they were all pretty impressive,” Whitlock said.

FUSE opens May 2 at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
