Hollywood Gamer

Bradley alumnus Matt Vroman ’12 is bringing comic superheroes to life in his latest project for Hollywood-based F84 Games. In collaboration with legendary comic creator Stan Lee, Vroman is part of the team developing “Stan Lee’s Hero Command.”

Vroman, who joined F84 Games shortly after graduation, built his career on skills acquired through an interactive media major (game design concentration) and computer science minor. Campus internships gave him opportunities to practice what he learned in class.

“They helped give me the confidence and experience I needed to land a full-time position post-graduation,” he said. “My internships taught me how to work with a team of professionals, how to communicate with clients and how to deliver great products in a time-sensitive environment.”

Vroman was offered a full-time position as a technical designer with F84 Games following a Spring 2012 semester in Hollywood internship with the company. It was his first experience in the field of game design. During the internship he “received hands-on experience with designing a variety of games for high-profile clients.”

He said the time at F84 Games has been an ideal experience to start his career.

“Everyone at the company is extremely knowledgeable and more than ready to help me learn and succeed in the industry,” he said.

With the current project, Vroman and his team are working with the game’s namesake to create characters for the iOS and Android game.

“Collaborating with Stan has been an amazing experience so far,” Vroman said. “Two years ago, I would have never imagined that I’d be working with the most well-known man in comics.”

“Stan Lee’s Hero Command” will be available for download December 17. Vroman will continue creating “fresh and interesting content” for the game after its release.

“We have a lot of exciting things planned for 2015 and I can’t wait to start working on them,” he said.
