Taking the Next Step

Alex Giordano ‘15, a health science major from Morris, Illinois, will continue his education at Washington University in St. Louis, which is No. 2 in U.S. News and World Report’s occupational therapy graduate program rankings.

“Washington University will give me an incredible learning experience and really strengthen my knowledge of the field,” Giordano said. “I'm aware of how fortunate I am that I got into their program. When people ask what my plans after Bradley are, it's so cool to be able to say that I'm going to Washington University for graduate school.”

He credited the University’s blend of classroom and real-world experiences for propelling him to grad school. As he looked back, he noted the impact of the close-knit campus.

“I've run into professors around campus that I've had in past years and they still remember my name,” Giordano said. “That's something I love about Bradley.”

"Competitive graduate programs, like Washington University's occupational therapy program, look for many factors when evaluating applicants," said program coordinator Dr. Robert Bertram.  "Alex combined strong multi-disciplinary academic performance with great out-of-classroom experiences involving direct patient contact. His experience reflects the ideal outcome we had in mind when our department developed the Health Science curriculum. "
