Fourth Quarter 2012 Retail Sales
Revised data on fourth quarter 2012 Peoria-Pekin Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA; consisting of Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Stark, and Marshall counties) retail sales revealed a total of $1.39 billion in retail sales in the Peoria-Pekin MSA. These sales were 1.58% higher than the $1.37 billion during the same time last year, as prices rose 1.9% over the same period, according to the Midwest Urban Consumer Price Index (CPI). Adjusting for inflation, the CBER's inflation adjusted retail sales index shows a 1.5% increase in retail purchases from the third quarter.
