New Center at Bradley University - Procurement Technical Assistance Center
by Linda Krendick, Director,
Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Bradley University
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship at Bradley University and the hiring of Linda Krendick as the new Director. The PTAC program has been an outreach and technical assistance provider in Illinois for over twenty years. The main focus of the PTAC is to assist startup and established businesses market their product or service to government agencies or large business.
The federal government continues to seek innovative products and services. Large businesses and companies with prime contracts from the federal government are mandated to use small businesses as subcontractors. This mandate, called “goaling,” means 23% of all federal contracts go to small businesses. The goal for the Central Illinois region is to leverage its specialized and innovative products and services in order to obtain contracts.
Linda has more than five years of experience as a Director with the Illinois PTAC in Central Illinois. Linda was Director at both former PTAC host locations—Illinois Central College and the Heartland Partnership. She has been an advisor to over 500 clients and helped them obtain more than $2 billion in contracts since 2008. She is an advocate in assisting small, women-owned, minority-owned, and veteran-owned businesses.
Linda previously worked for twenty years in automotive manufacturing where she held business development leadership roles with Product Development, Supply Chain Management, Master Requirements Planning (MRP), and ISO 9000 metrics and standard operating procedures. Linda brings expertise in the highly specialized area of manufacturing to benefit and support small businesses in production, quality systems, accounting systems, and contract systems. She is a Certified Business Specialist with the State of Illinois and a Level II Associate Contracting Assistance Specialist with the National Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers.
Linda is an alumnus of Illinois Central College and the University of Illinois Springfield, with a B.A. in Business Management. She is actively involved with regional economic development and entrepreneurship outreach. Her professional associations include the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC), the Illinois Entrepreneurship and Small Business Growth Association (IESBGA), the North Central Regional Council (NCRC), and the Midwest Small Business Liaison Officer Group (SBLO).
