Program Specifics

Curriculum

The MSA Program requires 30 semester hours of study, which includes a minimum of 15 credit hours in accounting and a maximum of 15 credit hours of elective courses. Designed to accommodate both pre-professional students and working professionals, the MSA program offers the flexibility to customize a course of study to meet your specific interests and needs. Throughout the program you’ll expand your critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills as you utilize current tools within the profession to research and solve accounting problems.

Time Frame

Students with an undergraduate accounting degree can complete the MSA within one year as a full-time student or two years as a part-time student.

Most MSA program classes are taught during the afternoon and evenings. In addition to traditional Fall and Spring semesters, courses are also offered during the January and Summer interim sessions. Students may enter the program in August, January, or during the Summer. Information regarding important dates within each semester or interim session is located in the academic calendar.

Learning Environment

You’ll engage with the MSA curriculum through a balance of case study analysis, lecture, and group or individual projects. A class size of 25-30 students assures diversity and allows professors to provide individual attention and mentoring. An emphasis on the exchange of ideas between faculty and students fosters a rich learning environment within the classroom.
