Foster College Receives AACSB International Accreditation

The Foster College of Business at Bradley has received official notification that its accreditation for its business and accounting degree programs have been extended. This accreditation process by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, is referred to as the 'gold standard' of business accreditation by Forbes magazine.

A team of peer reviewers noted several areas of excellence in the Foster College of Business including the senior capstone project where all students work directly with a real business on an active problem, the introduction to business course where all students develop a business plan, the new undergraduate curriculum, and joint efforts with the Caterpillar College of Engineering.

"AACSB accredited schools must demonstrate alignment with AACSB’s global accreditation standards, as well as how they encourage engagement, innovation, and impact across the communities they serve,” according to executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International, Robert D. Reid. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”

Dr. Darrell Radson, Dean of the Foster College of Business at Bradley, expressed his pride in the programs. "We are proud to be one of only 182 business schools worldwide, (less than 2%), to have attained AACSB accreditation for both our business and accounting programs. Our faculty and staff have worked extremely hard over the last 5 years to continue to improve our programs. This accreditation is a testament to the premiere educational opportunity we offer students."

As the longest serving global association dedicated to advancing management education worldwide, AACSB accredits 755 of the world’s best business schools across 51 countries and territories. In 1978 the Foster College of Business became the 77th college of business to earn AACSB accreditation and is proud to have maintained this accreditation continuously since that time.
