Community Support

Bradley University's American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter recently sold baked goods in a fall-themed fundraiser for local food pantries. The bake sale was the first of several charity events the organization has planned for this year.

“A few of our board members are from the area and want to make Peoria better, so what better way than to round up a bunch of college students and have a bake sale?” said AMA president, marketing major Becca Walczak ’16, of Huntley, Illinois. “We love doing things for other people.”

AMA has held various fundraising events for the community.

“Previously, we donated our time to help at the Boys and Girls Club, we had a Pancake Breakfast benefiting the Proton Foundation, which gives diapers to underprivileged children, and we had a toy and clothing drive last winter that benefited the Children's Home in Peoria,“ remarked Walczak.

In the coming months, AMA has plans for more charity events that will benefit the Peoria Community.

“We plan to do even more this year,” said Marketing Instructor and AMA Faculty Advisor, Brad Eskridge. “Next semester, we will have another bake sale and a pancake breakfast.”
