MIS Student Finishes Busy College Career

Management information systems major Alex Lange ’15 will enter the working world with a strong portfolio of practical learning experiences from which to launch a career.

“The MIS program has given me multiple opportunities to work with real clients in the Peoria area, which has led me to feel very prepared for the working world,” said Lange, of Princeton, Illinois.

Lange has had two internships with Caterpillar. The first one was as a global information systems intern. That summer exposed him to the inner-workings of customer service for facilities around the world. He also helped implement new software across the department.

The second internship was a logistics information technology position. For that summer, Lange worked on a 6 Sigma Green Belt project and SAP software configurations.

On top of the internships, Lange is also involved in campus organizations. He is the president of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and a member of Bradley’s SERVE.

He credited Dr. Chuck West for nurturing his academic growth.

“Ever since I switched into the MIS program, Dr. West has been a constant source of support, education and advice for me,” Lange said. “He made sure I got the most out of my education and I couldn't be more grateful for it.”

Lange is interviewing with companies in the Denver, Colorado area.
