2012 Elections are Over: What Can We Expect Now?
Presented by Bill Hall, Bradley University Professor Emeritus of Political Science and popular OLLI instructor, this lecture takes place after we learn the outcome of the November 2012 elections for the President and Congress. So what happens now?
What are the “battleground” issues, where are the polarized positions, and how are the politicians who won their elections likely to deal with these issues? Dr. Hall will provide an unbiased, impartial perspective on what we can expect from the Congress and President, along with his thoughts about what is needed to change the current dynamic of bitter partisanship that fails to address America's significant challenges.

Presenter
William K. Hall is Professor of Political Science, Emeritus, Bradley University. Before coming to Bradley in 1969, he received his B.A. from Baker University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. He is a former member of the Kansas House of Representatives. Dr. Hall taught a variety of courses in American Politics while at Bradley. He was the recipient of the Putnam Award for Excellence in Teaching from Bradley in 1992.
The author of two books, he has also published numerous journal articles on judicial retention elections, cumulative voting, and city council elections and politics. He authored a chapter on the 2010 election in the Illinois Eleventh Congressional District in the recently-published The Roads to Congress 2010.
Among a variety of civic activities, Professor Hall has served as President of the League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria and as President of the Board of Directors of the Central Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
