Fredericksburg: In the Heart of the Civil War
Thank you for your interest in the Fredericksburg trip. Due to low enrollment, we have cancelled this tour. We hope to offer another trip in 2014, so please visit our website again for further information.
Join two great hosts - OLLI at Bradley University and The Peoria Historical Society - as we continue our Civil War tour - this time to Fredericksburg!
Calling all Civil War buffs!! Halfway between Washington D.C. (capital of the Union) and Richmond, VA (capital of the Confederacy) lies the Rappahannock River and the town of Fredericksburg, VA. During the Civil War, this area was the site of four major battles. Join us as we learn about four important battles in and around Fredericksburg: the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Battle of Chancellorsville, and the Battles of the Wilderness and Spotsylvania Courthouse.
Join us as we travel to Fredericksburg to learn and tour these Civil War sites. Our itinerary will also include visits to a plantation, an antebellum home, museums, and other historical attractions. We’ll stay at the same hotel for several nights, and you’ll have one half day free to rest or explore on your own. Peoria Charter Coach will provide our transportation.
Dates
