Teaching

Dr. Benco currently teaches Advanced Financial Accounting and Accounting Systems and Control. Before joining Bradley in fall 2011, Dr. Benco taught Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Governmental Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Auditing. He co-developed and co-taught Accounting Research and Software for Accountants courses.

Scholarship

Dr. Benco conducts research on enterprise resource planning systems and issues of importance to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In addition, he has started a stream of research into convergence of IASB pronouncements with GAAP. He has published in such journals as The Quarterly Journal of Finance and Economics; Taxes—The Tax Magazine; and The Journal of Accountancy.

Service

Dr. Benco has worked in the banking and insurance industries and has co-owned and operated an advertising agency. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the American Accounting Association. Before joining Bradley, he served his community as a member of the board of directors of the community theater and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
