Junior Kaleigh Tockes (Biology-CM major and CHM minor) was the recipient of an American Society for Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship for 2012. This fellowship provided Kaleigh with a summer research position in the laboratory of Dr. Keith Johnson and Bradley University. Kaleigh’s two part research proposal, Carnobacterium Aminoglycoside Resistance and Repetitive Sequence Characterization in Serratia species will continue through the 2012/2013 academic year. Kaleigh will present her research at the 113th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology in Denver in May 2013. Partial financial support was provided by the Biology Department.
