Department of Communication Welcomes Three New Faculty Members

The department welcomes Angela Pratt as an assistant professor of communication. Her research and teaching interests include public relations and marketing communication in intercollegiate athletics, and gender and communication in sport organizations. Pratt has several years of professional experience in public relations, marketing and sales in the athletics industry. Pratt received an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2000. She received a B.A. in Mass Communication (print media concentration) from Campbell University in May of 1998. Pratt is currently finishing her PhD in Communication and Information from the School of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Tennessee.

The department also welcomes Dr. Jill Greenman as an assistant professor in communication. Previously, she was an assistant professor, Department of Communication, at the University of Memphis. She teaches and conducts research in public relations and advertising, with a particular interest in crisis communications. Prior to university teaching, Dr. Greenman held communications management posts with several global Fortune 500 companies and communications consultancies. She earned a Ph.D. in Communication and Master of Arts in English from The University of Memphis, a Masters of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from DePauw University.

The department is also happy to welcome Rickey Thein as an instructor in communication. He joined Bradley University after a 13-year career in television news. Thein worked in five different markets as a sports anchor, reporter, photographer, producer, writer, editor, and online journalist. Thein's work has been recognized numerous times by the Associated Press. He earned a B.A. in Radio and Television for Central Florida University, and a Master's Degree in Mass Communication and Media Arts from Southern Illinois University.
