Gurbani speaks on campus

Bradley alumnus Dr. Vijay K. Gurbani '88, MS '90 returned to campus in November 2010 to present a case study at an event sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery student chapter. Students enjoyed the well-attended presentation titled "A Case Study of a Corporate Open Source Development Model."

Dr. Gurbani works for the Security Technology Research Group at Bell Laboratories, the research arm of Alcatel-Lucent. His research interests are Internet telephony services, Internet telephony signaling protocols, security of Internet telephony protocols and services, and P2P networks and their application to various domains.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a minor in mathematics from Bradley University in 1989 and a Master of Science in computer science from BU in 1990. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. Gurbani is a senior member of the ACM and a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
