Writehouse Ink. is a community composed of both routine and aspiring writers, lyricists, poets, editors, and readers. While other organizations focus on publishing or performing, we only want to provide a time and location for the actual writing process. We believe that one of the hardest things about writing is learning how to do it consistently, and for that we exist.
If you are interested in Writehouse Ink. or if you have any questions, join the public Facebook group "Writehouse Ink." or email Christian Lyon at email@example.com.
Writehouse Ink. 2013 Events:
March 31 - Week 3's meeting is an editing session. Members should bring hard copies of their pieces that they would like to be edited (constructive criticism only) by other members. Students can choose not to participate if they would like to write or make self-revisions.
April 7: Week 4's meeting gives members a chance to share their work with group members, though it is not mandatory to do so. Students may read/perform their own work, pass out copies, have someone else read it, etc.
April 14: Week 1's meeting focuses on creation, whether this is free-writing, drawing, or making any sort of art/expression. Members will be given a loose prompt that they may choose to follow or choose any topic of their desire.
April 21: Week 2's meeting has the purpose of self-editing pieces. Students will look over their work from the last meeitng or pieces from outside meetings and develop them into a first draft that they may choose to be peer-edited during the next meeting. This meeting is all about self-improvement and developing as a self-critic.
April 28: Week 3's meeting is an editing session. Members should bring hard copies of their pieces that they would like to be edited (constructive criticism only) by other members. Students can choose not to participate if they would like to write or make self-revisions. As this is the last meeting, we will be voting for officers for the fall semester.
