Writing Opportunities
The English department sponsors a number of opportunities to apply your own skills as a writer or to learn from direct contact with professional writers.
Writing Contests
Students are invited to compete each year in four writing contests, each with a significant cash award. Two awards are in poetry, one in creative non-fiction, and one in professional writing.
Visiting Writers Series
The Visiting Writers Series not only brings influential and accomplished writers to campus every semester, it also brings those writers together with students in the classroom.
