Bill Funkhouser joined Bradley University in 2005 as an Executive in Residence. In this capacity, Bill serves as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Finance and Quantitative Methods. Bill came to Bradley University from Banc One Corporation where he last served as President and City Executive for Banc One’s Peoria, Illinois, banking operation. Prior to that assignment, Bill served as Home Equity Manager for Banc One’s Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin Community Bank Group and as Vice President-Senior Credit Officer for Midwest Financial Group. Bill continues to serve as a consultant to the banking industry.
As an Executive in Residence, Bill’s role in the Department of Finance and Quantitative Methods is to bring a high degree of practical application into the classroom. Bill utilizes discussions of current events, guest speakers, projects, and class participation to supplement the teaching of core theories and concepts. Bill received the Phi Chi Theta Outstanding Teacher Award in 2007.

College & University
Bill is actively engaged in working with students outside of the classroom. He currently serves as the faculty advisor for the Financial Management Association student organization and previously served as faculty advisor for the Society for the Advancement of Management and the Gamma Iota Sigma student organizations, and the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity. Bill also serves on the Foster College of Business Strategic Planning Committee and is actively involved in the University’s student recruitment process. Bill regularly is asked to serve as a speaker on money management and retirement planning by various student organizations.
Bill has a long history of being involved in community organizations. Currently, Bill serves as a member of the Illinois High School Association March Madness Steering Committee. Previously, Bill has served as a board member of the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, Tri-County Urban League, Upgrade Housing Corporation (Treasurer), Peoria Housing Authority (Commissioner), Peoria Race Relations Committee (Chairman), and the Financial Institutions CRA Council (President).
