History Major Vickie Berkow Heads to DC

February 8, 2013

She was nominated by the Bradley administration to go to the Washington Center in D.C. for 10 days.

She listened in on notable speakers, saw a number of exciting sites in D.C. such as the Federal Election Commission, the Indian Embassy and the Newseum, and met with students from across the nation - and world. Vickie stated it was an amazing, historical time to be in the capital, and she even saw Bill Clinton!

She was fortunate enough to attend the seminar during an inauguration year, and got to witness President Obama's second inauguration right in front of the Capitol (She attained a ticket through Congressman Schock's office). "It was definitely one of the coolest - and most crowded - experiences of my life", stated Vickie.
