Students had the opportunity to participate in a simulation of current global climate change negotiations in a course offered by Dr. Jeanie Bukowski for Bradley's Honors Program during the fall 2011 semester.  Playing the role of official negotiators representing 15 countries and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, students simulated a United Nations-sponsored negotiation (the 2011 Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa) that has as its goal the development of a new multilateral treaty addressing global climate change.  Over two days, the negotiators discussed the most pressing global concerns regarding this critical issue, defended their countries' positions, and struggled to find possible areas of compromise.
