Why Choose International Studies?
- As a separate (i.e. not interdisciplinary) academic unit, the Institute controls its own curriculum and can offer students courses on the most current and pressing issues affecting world affairs. Among others, the Institute offers courses on globalization, diplomacy, intelligence, and contemporary American foreign policy.
- The major is designed to facilitate participation in a study abroad experience. As a result approximately 85 percent of our majors complete a study abroad program prior to graduation.
- The flexibility of the international studies major allows students to prepare themselves for a variety of career choices. These options include work in government, the private sector, and with nonprofits.
