Biography

Carl Anderson teaches the Music Business program at Bradley University and has a Bachelors degree in Business Finance from Bradley. In addition, he is the General Manager for Kidder Music Service and has been active in the music business for over 27 years. Mr. Anderson is a commercial trombone player in the Central Illinois area, specializing in traditional jazz from the 20’s and 30’s. He has performed with many jazz groups including the Lawrence Welk All-Stars, the Harry James Orchestra, and the Temptations.

Mr. Anderson is the founder of the Central Illinois Jazz Orchestra and the leader of the Carl Anderson New Orleans Jazz Band, which has produced and recorded three separate albums. He is in the horn line for the popular rock/funk group, J.C. & The Redemption.  Additionally, he is a member of the Prairie Wind Ensemble where he has served as trombonist, soloist, and guest conductor.  He is also the conductor of the St. Jude Catholic Parish Wind Ensemble and the Peoria Diocesan Pontifical Brass. Each summer he acts as the principal trombonist for the Peoria Municipal Band. Mr. Anderson is also a private trombone instructor and low brass clinician. When he is not playing music, you can find him under water as an avid swimmer, scuba diver, and certified PADI Dive Master.
