A native of the Chicago area, Ryan Miller received his Bachelor of Music Performance from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Music Performance from Roosevelt University in Chicago. His diverse freelance performing career started in 1990 and he has since played with the bands of Ramsey Lewis, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Mel Torme, Natalie Cole, Gino Vanelli, and local groups like The Chicago Jazz Ensemble, The Skyliners Big Band, and rock cover-band supreme Tributosaurus. As a classical musician he has played with The Illinois Philharmonic, The Peoria Symphony, The Heartland Festival Orchestra, The Windy City Brass Quintet, The Chicago Trombone Quartet, and The Chicago Trombone Authority. He is also an active theater musician for Broadway in Chicago and has played tenor trombone, bass trombone, and tuba for a wide range of shows from "The Book of Mormon" to "The Lion King". He has been teaching low brass instruments since 1992. In 2008 he formed the "Learn to Make Music" teaching studio in Hinsdale, IL, bringing quality instruction on all instruments to the western suburbs of Chicago.
