I’m a KHS major at Bradley but I have AP credit in some science and/or math classes. Am I eligible for Early Assurance?

Yes, but the grades from your AP classes will not be included when we calculate your Math/Science GPA.

Will the grades from all my math and science courses be included in the Math/Science GPA calculation?

Only your grades from the math and science courses that are required for the KHS major will be included.

What are the required math and science courses for the KHS major?

  • BIO 111/113 – Introduction to Cell Biology (3 hours) and Lab (1 hour)
  • BIO 112/114 – Introduction to Ecology and Evolution (3 hours) and Lab (1 hour)
  • BIO 230/231 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I (3 hours) and Lab I (1 hour)
  • BIO 232/233 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II (3 hours) and Lab II (1 hour)
  • CHM 110/111 – General Chemistry I (3 hours) and Lab I (1 hour)
  • CHM 116/117 – General Chemistry II (3 hours) and Lab II (1 hour)
  • PHY 107 – General Physics I (4 hours)
  • PHY 108 – General Physics II (4 hours)
  • MTH 115 – Brief Calculus With Applications I (4) OR MTH 121 – Calculus I (4)

The required math and science courses total 36 credit hours.

I received an A in both BIO 203 Human Anatomy and Physiology I lecture and the Lab. But when I took BIO 232 Human Anatomy and Physiology II, I got Cs in both the lecture and the lab. Since a B average in those courses is required, are the grades from both A and P I and A and P II averaged together, resulting in a B?

Yes. In this scenario, you would still qualify for Early Assurance. This would also be true if you received an A in the lecture portion (3 credit hours) and a C in the lab portion (1 credit hour) for either A & P I or A and P II.

Does “the end of sophomore year” mean the end of my second year at Bradley?

The semester in which you reach a total of 55 credit hours (including AP credits and transfer courses) is designated the end of your sophomore year. If you came to Bradley with credit hours already, you may reach 55 hours before the second year you’re actually taking classes. This applies to your junior year also. The semester in which you reach a total of 89 credit hours (including AP credits and transfer courses) is designated the end of your junior year.

Will I need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE)?

If the Bradley DPT program is the only program to which you are applying, you do not need to take the GRE. If you wish to apply to a different program as well as Bradley, be aware that other schools may require you to take the GRE and submit your score to them.
