The annual conference of the Illinois Association of Teacher Educators encourages participation by preservice teachers from colleges and universities in the state. This year IATE was hosted by Bradley University. One panel session, Integrating Literacy in the Content Areas: Secondary Preservice Teachers Share their Beliefs, involved four current Bradley students: Lauren Obermaier ’12 (chemistry), Alexandra Sebastian ’11 (social studies), Carolyn McCullough ’12 (mathematics), and Stacy Brooks ’12 (English). This was their first statewide conference panel presentation. Their session was moderated by Jennifer Tucker ’97 who holds a master’s from Xavier University.
