The LBS I – ELE program qualifies individuals for the State of Illinois Professional Educator's License with endorsements in LBSI and Elementary.  The LBSI license qualifies individuals to teach children between the ages of 3 and 21 with a wide range of disabilities: LD, ED, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, TBI, Orthopedic, and Other Health Impairments (not including vision or hearing).  The Elementary license qualifies individuals to teach kindergarten through 6th grade in self-contained classrooms.  Students in this program must choose a concentration from one of the following areas: English/language arts, fine arts, foreign language, mathematics, science, or social studies. Students who choose may take additional course work for an endorsement to teach in the middle grades. Additional course work is also required for an Early Childhood Special Education Approval.
