The Vivian C. Allan & Marion Allan Chadduck Endowed Scholarship
Female graduate students in good standing who are enrolled in Bradley University’s Curriculum and Instruction program are invited to submit applications for the Vivian C. Allan and Marion Allan Chadduck Endowed Scholarship. Applicants must also have completed five consecutive years of classroom teaching within the last seven years, have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and be enrolled in the upcoming summer and/or fall terms.
The scholarship recipient, thereafter known as a Vivian C. Allan and Marion Allan Chadduck Scholar, will receive a monetary award to be applied toward tuition. In addition, the recipient's name will be inscribed on a permanent plaque which will be prominently displayed and to which a new name shall be added annually.
The recipient of the award will be honored at the Spring Honors Program of the College of Education and Health Sciences. The scholarship award letter will be presented during the ceremony.
Selection of the recipient will be based on the following criteria:
- The filing of an application form obtained online through the Teacher Education Website or through the C & I Graduate office.
- A resume and a letter of general information and background must be submitted with the application which indicates the student's involvement in professional activities, civic and social contributions to the community, a brief statement of the applicant's professional philosophy, and his/her goals and aspirations.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation. (Mail directly to Coordinator, EHS Graduate Studies with postmark on or before February 15th).
Note: Doctoral, specialist degree students and full-time Graduate Assistants are not eligible. Full- or part-time faculty members are not eligible. Part-time Graduate Assistants and part-time students are eligible. Students who already have financial aid including the Professional Educators Scholarship and Special Degree Completion Program are eligible. Although, students who are receiving full tuition coverage from these or other programs are not eligible.
The application, resume and letter of general information should be sent to the Coordinator, EHS Graduate Studies, College of Education and Health Sciences, Bradley University, Peoria, IL 61625. The letter should be written in a professional style and manner that best fits the applicant.
All applications for the Vivian C. Allan & Marion Allan Chadduck Award must be received on or before 5:00 p.m. on February15th. A committee composed of members of the Graduate Studies Council will then evaluate each application and select the recipient.
