Announcing: ELH Counseling Program Upgrades!
New 60 hour Counseling Program
Taking the lead among counseling programs in the state, the ELH department has gained approval on campus to upgrade our program to the 60-hour standard along with associated course additions, modifications, and deletions. By 2013 all Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) must move to a 60-semester hour minimum curriculum. In the process, the Community and Agency Counseling program specialty area is being replaced by the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program designation. Additionally, the ELH department faculty initiated a comparable upgrade to the School Counseling program requirements to conform to the 60-hour minimum in order to promote a more unified training experience for all of our counseling students.
Implementing the New Program
The Dept. of ELH faculty believes that we can accomplish this change and adapt the curriculum schedules to best meet the needs of our future counselors. Not all changes will be implemented immediately, but will generally be phased in. Refer to the following links for information on courses and tentative schedule.

- CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The department
offers three graduate programs designed to prepare leaders and practitioners
in educational administration,
human service administration,
and human development
counseling.
These programs prepare students to assume leadership and skills
in areas important to individuals and the society—a direction guided
by our mission and vision statements.
