You’ll find that the Department of Educational
Leadership and Human Development is a strong community of dedicated
faculty and forward-looking students. A range of opportunities
will enhance your experience here. Some details:
Scholarships in Human
Development Counseling
A number of scholarships are available to students who have joined
the human development
counseling program. The deadline for these scholarships
is January 15.
The Counseling, Research, and Training Clinic
Serving students, the clinic offers graduate students in
the human development counseling
program an opportunity to gain supervised, practical experience
by licensed and certified faculty. Faculty who provide supervision
are licensed and certified and adhere to the ethical standards of
the American Counseling Association. Recently the clinic received
a grant that enables students to participate in providing counseling,
support groups, and information to caregivers, the elderly, and grandparents
raising grandchildren in a six-county area.
The Family
Visitation Center
ELH counseling students staff this important center, which provides
a neutral environment for noncustodial parents to meet with their
children. A collaborative venture through the 10th Judicial
Circuit Court and Bradley, the center was developed by Dr.
Jobie Skaggs.
The Beta
Phi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional
Honor Society International
Each semester, students who excel academically in the counseling
program, as well as professionals, are invited for membership
in this society. The Beta Phi chapter offers many academic and
professional development activities, including comprehensive exam
study workshops, speaker's bureau, newsletter, and career day speakers.

Superintendents’
Roundtable
The Superintendents’ Roundtable of Central Illinois meets at Bradley
University six times a year. Dr.
Michael Risen and Dr. Jenny
Tripses serve as University liaisons. Faculty maintain strong
professional relationships with practicing educators in the Peoria
area. These working relationships often lead to experiences
for ELH students in public schools in the area. |
