

A wide variety of clinical facilities are utilized by the Department of Nursing for practicum sites.
At the undergraduate level, a variety of experiences are available including:
At the graduate level, nurse administered anesthesia students will have all practicum experiences at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois. During the senior year, students are assigned to affiliated clinical sites. Nursing administration students will work with the professor in selecting appropriate clinical sites congruent with student interests.
The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honorary Nursing Society is at Bradley University. Honor students, both graduate and undergraduate, are invited to become members of Sigma Theta Tau and attend all meetings. In addition, Epsilon Epsilon Chapter sponsored a Research Day that is open to all students.
Both graduate and undergraduate students participate in research activities. All students are guided in these activities by faculty members. Selected students may be asked to assist with ongoing faculty research projects.
The Department of Nursing retains a special librarian to assist faculty and students in their work and research activities. The Cullom-Davis Library houses over 1,200,000 items and subscribes to numerous nursing journals. Bradley University also participates in Illinet Online with access to 42 other academic libraries. Interlibrary loan is available to all students.
The Department of Nursing maintains a nursing skills lab as well as a computer lab. Computer-aided instruction is used by students to review nursing content. Instruction in using computers is provided by the nursing faculty and others. Students may also take advantage of technology classes offered on campus.
All Bradley University students receive access to the Bradley University Computer Network. Students may then access library sources, e-mail and access the Internet from on-campus sites or from home (with a modem). Support for students using computers is supplied through a computer hotline. In addition, many dorm rooms come equipped with computers. There are numerous computer facilities throughout campus buildings.
Co-op Program
The Department of Nursing offers a co-op program for students entering senior year. Employment of students is through a cooperative agreement with a major medical center in Peoria. Students are mentored by master's prepared nurses on medical-surgical acute care units. Students receive a salary by the medical center and also receive college credit for their work.Summer Enrichment Program for High School Students
The Department of Nursing offers a special summer program for high school students considering a career in nursing. Participants observe and interact with nurses in practice settings, such as critical care, rehabilitation, medical surgical, obstetrical and mental health settings. Students also learn selected nursing assessment techniques as well as practice CPR. The program is open to high school students entering their junior or senior years.Bradley University Study Abroad Program
Bradley University offers college credit for general education or elective courses taken abroad. Students participate in the program during summers or during regular semesters. Currently, study is available in Russia, Israel, Denmark, Sweden, England, Scotland, Wales, Japan, France, Austria, Spain, Czech Republic, Mexico, Hungary and Germany.
