An assistant professor
in the nursing department, Julie Baylors primary content responsibility
involves maternal child nursing and men's and women's health.
She is the Bradley Nursing Student Association faculty adviser,
a judge for Greek scholar and president of the year awards, faculty
sponsor of a 1st place award winner in the University-sponsored
Student Research and Creative Production Exhibition, coach of the
Science Olympiad team in her home town, and a directed research
advisor for nursing graduate students.
Dr. Baylor traveled to Denmark to
develop a program for nursing students to attend during the summer.
Along with several others from the U.S. she worked with the Danish
International Studies office to plan for the implementation of the
program.
Her recent research includes an ongoing
study in Missouri, focuses on problem behaviors in adult male/teen
female dyads, especially when pregnancy is involved. Past
research includes accuracy of different types of thermometers used
in newborns, and stress in nurse managers.
Background
A nurse since 1978, Dr. Baylor has experience in burns, MICU, labor
and delivery, the Family Practice Residency program at the U of
I College of Medicine program, and in managing a family physician's
office.

Dr. Baylor received her Diploma from Methodist Medical Center School
of Nursing (1978); her BSN at Bradley (1991); her MSN at Bradley
(1993); and her PhD at St. Louis University (2004). |
