Rhonda
Gee serves as the CRNA Director of the Decatur Memorial Hospital
's Nurse Anesthesia Program/Bradley University. Her role in this
position is to oversee the operations of the Nurse Anesthesia Program;
ensure compliance with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia
Education Programs (COA); and provides guidance and support to both
nurse anesthesia students and faculty. In addition, she is active
in providing both didactic and clinical instruction at Decatur Memorial
Hospital (DMH). She serves on all nurse anesthesia program
committees at DMH, as a member of the DMH research Awareness Committee,
as a Pacific institute image 21 facilitator, and on the DMH/BU joint
Nurse Anesthesia Program committees, Topic Approval and Admissions.
Background
Prior
to serving as the CRNA Program Director, Ms. Gee has participated
in the Decatur Memorial Hospital 's Nurse Anesthesia Program/Bradley
University as the Assistant CRNA Program Director and faculty member.
She has been engaged in clinical practice at DMH and other area
institutions. Professionally, she is a member of the American Association
of Nurse Anesthetists and serves as a Regional Director for the
Illinois Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She is also a
team reviewer for the COA and in that role, participates in the
accreditation process of nurse anesthesia programs nationwide. Research
interests are in the area of simulation-based education.
Degrees
& Certification
Ms.
Gee earned her diploma in nursing from St. John's Hospital School
of Nursing, and an AA (1976) from Springfield College of Nursing.
She earned her BSN (1991) from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville
and her MSN (1995) from Bradley University. She is currently
enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Science program at the University
of Tennessee at Memphis. She is a Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetist.
