Nursing practice is an unusually challenging
and rewarding career, and nurses play an essential role in health
care. In fact, many critically important discoveries in the
prevention and control of infectious diseases, and in the delivery
of patient care, have been made by nurses.
At Bradley, the study of nursing blends theory and practice to prepare
graduates to successfully write the NCLEX-RN
examination to become a registered nurse. (The program is fully
accredited by the National
League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.) The program
also incorporates study in the liberal arts—which offers a rich and
valuable background through foundation, elective, and supporting courses
in the humanities, the social sciences, the sciences, and mathematics.
The nursing major courses begin
at the sophomore level and are concentrated at the upper division
level. With this program design, you’ll have an excellent comprehensive
university experience. Nursing majors have not only excelled
in academics, but also in music, social organizations, and athletics.
Admission
Eligible students may be directly admitted into the nursing program,
thus securing a place in the clinical courses. To apply, follow
the regular
admission procedures for undergraduates, and note nursing as your
area of study.
Admission for
licensed nurses
Licensed nurses who wish to pursue a bachelor of science in nursing
may also apply. Follow the
regular admission procedures for transfer students and note nursing
as your area of study.
