I'm
not a newcomer to Bradley University. I graduated Magna Cum
Laude with a Bachelor of Science in teacher education in May of
1982 and with a Masters in Counseling and Guidance in December of
1987. I have enjoyed dual careers working in both education
and business. As a teacher, I've had many rich and rewarding
experiences working with a diverse population of school children
on a professional level from first grade through the high school
years and with young adults and non-traditional students who are
pursuing post secondary education. Likewise, in the business
community, I've had many rich and rewarding experiences accompanied
by many challenges, successes, and much satisfaction. I've
come to recognize, over the years, how much my training to be a
teacher has prepared me to navigate through life successfully and
make adaptations to changing times and career paths. The educatin
I received at Bradley has served me very well.
In
1998, I once again returned to Bradley, however, this time to teach
Children's Literature. I enjoyed the experience very much
and felt honored when I was offered two courses the next semester.
With each passing semester, I was teaching yet another course until
eventually I was teaching a full course load. Concurrently,
I was pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois
State University and was awarded the degree on May 14, 2005.
I am looking forward to my continued affiliation as I join the faculty
at Bradley as an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education in
the Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education
and Health Sciences.
