of 2002, special education teacher
"Im currently a special education teacher for grades
three through five at Coonley Elementary School in Chicago. My classroom
consists of students who are labeled EMH (Educationally Mentally
Handicapped) and TMH (Trainably Mentally Handicapped). I really
enjoy my position at Coonley. Most of all I enjoy the fact that
I have a great group of students in my class and an outstanding
team of teachers to work with.
"My coursework and outside experiences throughout my two years
at Bradley really helped me become a well-rounded person in the
field of education. I learned a lot of different ideas throughout
my student teaching experiences, and I use many of those ideas in
my own classroom. Also, many of the projects I have completed throughout
my coursework have been put to great use in my classroom. I can
honestly say that my studies at Bradley University really paid off
and became a building block for my future."
Lynn Anderson-Loy, class of 2002, elementary
school teacher
"I was a nontraditional student with a dream of becoming a
teacher after spending 27 years in the dental profession. Bradley
University welcomed me with open arms and with the convenience of
evening classes, I was able to work full-time, take care of my family,
and still go to school. Every step of the way, I had the support
of wonderful professors who challenged and guided me through my
undergraduate studies. I will never forget the pride I had in myself
and my profession on my graduation day. Today, I am a 4th grade
teacher at Franklin-Edison Primary School in Peoria. My studies
at Bradley prepared me well to meet the challenges of teaching.
When asked, I am proud to say I am a Bradley graduate!" |
