Mechanical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Concentration

Biomedical Engineering Concentration
for
Mechanical Engineering

The biomedical engineering concentration aims to give students an interdisciplinary education with which to apply their engineering skills to current problems in medicine and biology.

Mechanical Engineering with Biomedical Engineering Concentration curriculum integrates biomedical engineering experiences into all levels of the program. Students are introduced to current trends in the field through coursework by the selection of appropriate technical electives.

As a part of the senior design projects, students in this concentration have the opportunity to design and develop medical devices for the medical and healthcare industry in the area.

Additionally, students interested in pursuing graduate school in biomedical engineering have ample research opportunities at Bradley University through current collaboration with three hospitals, UIUC School of Medicine, PeoriaNext (http://www.peorianext.org ) and the USDA National Utilization of Agricultural Research Lab (http://www.ars.usda.gov/).

Dr. Kalyani Nair is the Coordinator for the Biomedical Engineering Concentration in Mechanical Engineering. All inquiries related to this concentration should be directed to Dr. Nair at:
