Program Overview

The MSN - Nurse Administered Anesthesia program is offered jointly by Bradley University and Decatur Memorial Hospital.  Courses provide students with a strong knowledge base in anesthesia principles and the physical sciences.  The internship is designed to develop the expertise required for independent practice.  Graduates will be eligible to write the nurse anesthesia certification examination.  The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.

Program Requirements

The MSN - Nurse Administered Anesthesia program requires 48 semester hours.  Students complete the program in 33 months.  The first year is spent at Bradley University.  For the remainder of the program, students are on-site at Decatur Memorial Hospital.  Please see the Decatur Memorial Hospital web site for a complete list of program requirements.

Admission Requirements

In addition to meeting the admission requirements of the Graduate School, individuals seeking admission to the MSN - Nurse Administered Anesthesia program should also have completed an NLN accredited BSN program, have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0, and completed the following undergraduate courses with a grade of "C" or better: health assessment, nursing research, inferential statistics, inorganic chemistry, and organic chemistry.  Applicants should also have a minimum of one year adult ICU experience.  Current and ongoing ICU experience is expected.
