Graduate School Financial Assistance & Forms
Graduate Tuition Scholarships
The Graduate School awards Graduate Tuition Scholarships to new students based on a variety of factors including academic achievement and availability of funds. Scholarships help reduce the cost of tuition and can be applied to up to 18 semester hours per academic year. Scholarships will renew at the same level as long as the student is continuously enrolled (fall and spring semesters), maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0, and remains in good academic standing (i.e. not on academic probation or academically dismissed.) Only those students admitted to a degree program are eligible for Graduate Tuition Scholarship awards. Applicants seeking admission to the Graduate School may apply for Graduate Tuition Scholarships in the Financial Assistance section of the Application for Graduate School Admission.
Graduate Assistantships
For the 2008-2009 academic year, full-time graduate assistants will qualify for 100% of tuition aid for a maximum of 18 semester hours per academic year. Half-time Graduate Assistants will qualify for 50% of tuition aid for a maximum of 18 semester hours per academic year. The exceptions are students admitted to the MBA or MSA program who are awarded graduate assistantship awards in the Foster College of Business. These students may qualify for tuition aid for a maximum of 30 semester hours per academic year. Graduate Assistants are also paid a stipend. The amount of the stipend varies by department.
Assistantship tuition aid replaces any university-supported scholarship award. Interim and summer session financial aid consideration will be given on a funds available basis. To be eligible for a graduate assistantship award students must be admitted to a degree program and intend to study full-time.
