Bradley University is recruiting high school students, undergraduates and K-12 educators from the Peoria area who are interested in pursing careers in science and technology-related areas. The Building Excellent Scientists for Tomorrow (BEST) program has two components developed specifically for high school students, undergraduates and K-12 educators..
The BEST Research Internship program is designed to provide high school students, undergraduates and K-12 educators with hands-on experience in scientific research. These students, undergraduates and K-12 educators will be placed in research labs in the Peoria area for full- or part-time internships, to be completed during a 10-week period from June 8-August 14, 2009. They will learn first-hand about the scientific research process, working side-by-side with top researchers and their teams. They will also receive additional training in science methods, scientific ethics, also safety and related topics. Participants will receive a stipend for the research internships, and one hour of college credit for the classroom portion of the program. All high school students who have successfully completed one year of high school science are eligible. Applicants must submit a completed application and two letters of recommendation.
The BEST program is funded through the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
