BEST Program for High School Students

Bradley University is recruiting high school students from PSD150 who are interested in pursing careers in science and technology-related areas.  The BEST (Building Excellent Scientists for Tomorrow) Program has two components developed specifically for high school students.

The BEST High School Research Internship program is designed to provide high school students with hands-on experience in scientific research.  These students will be placed in research labs in the Peoria area for 200-hour internships, to be completed during a 10-week period from June 9-August 15, 2008.  They will learn first-hand about the scientific research process, working side-by-side with top researchers and their teams. They will also receive additional training in science methods, scientific ethics, alb safety and related topics.  Participants will receive a stipend for the research internships, and one hour of college credit for the classroom portion of the program.  All students who have successfully completed one year of high school science are eligible.  Applicants must submit a completed application and two letters of recommendation.

The BEST program is funded through the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
