Umbilical Cord Blood Donation Information

If you are pregnant and interested in donating your umbilical cord blood after the delivery of your baby please contact Dr. Craig Cady-Department of Biology 309-677-3020

Cord blood donations will be accepted on a voluntary basis from normal or uncomplicated pregnancies. There is no direct benefit to the donor. There is no cost to the donor for donating cord blood; the donor must sign a consent form. Donated cord blood stem cells will be used for research on neurological disease like Parkinson's disease, as well as for research on heart disease and cancer.
