More information

Meredith Houghton has been employed by Bradley University for over twelve years. She came to CS/CIS in 2003 after having worked in the Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering Department for ten years. Both Departments have given her a different view of what Bradley University has to offer students.

In this Department, Meredith works with the ten faculty and staff plus five or six part time instructors. She coordinates communications, information, appointments, deadlines, and book orders. She works closely with the Chair regarding meetings, budgetary accounts, travel, graduation requirements and visitors. She maintains student and departmental files, handle class-related materials, compose correspondence and order supplies. She also provides support to the many Graduate and Undergraduate students by processing and orienting incoming graduate students, checking prerequisite requirement each semester, tracking graduation requirements, and typing letters.

Outside of the office, Meredith and her husband, Tom, attend a weekly bible study group. They have four children and 7 grandchildren, and a pond in the back yard with thirteen koi.. She is a member of The International Order of King's Daughters and Sons and holds the office of State President. She loves to do needlework, but unfortunately isn't able to spend much time at it.

She loves working at Bradley and the Computer Science Department. Growing up, she was taught that education was a vital, important part of each person's life. Working in this environment every day confirms that belief. She is thrilled to see each student come into this University and work towards a goal that will define their lives after they graduate.
